Record numbers at Russia’s biggest autumn tourism event MATIW

(Forimmediaterelease.net) Russia’s leading autumn tourism industry event MATIW proudly records increased numbers of exhibiting and participating companies. Financial crises and low arrivals from traditionally strong outbound markets lead to growing interest for the lucrative Russian market where a lot of potential is still hidden. Two months prior to MATIW, the Organizers can report increased exhibitor and visitor registrations, as well as rapidly growing demand for exhibition space. MATIW is going to take place from 22 — 25 September 2009 at the International Exhibition Center Crocus Expo in Moscow. This event traditionally marks the beginning of the winter season in Russia’s tourism industry and offers its participants a perfect platform for new business opportunities and negotiations with existing and future partners.
The global event unifys the 15th international exhibition for travel&tourism Otdykh LEISURE, the 5th international meeting industry and business travel exhibition and conference MIBEXPO Russia, the 4th specialized exhibition for exclusive and vip travel LUXURY Leisure as well as the 5th SPA&Health Conference.
Over the years, Otdykh LEISURE established itself as the number one event for all winter destinations. Exhibiting companies and countries do realize the importance of this season, as many Russians prefer to travel during autumn, winter and spring. «Our show is the place to present new programs and to sign contracts with Russian partners. This year we were really overwhelmed by the number and quality of space bookings. The show was confirmed by the Russian key players, international exhibitors from Europe, Asia, Africa, America, Australia and Arab countries. Both exhibitions are unique for Russia, they offer professional forums which combine educational sessions, networking events with carefully selected buyers and a wide range of high end and MICE suppliers from Russia and abroad.
LUXURY Leisure’s director Margit Hatzmann confirms: «The show will grow this year, but it will again feature only best luxury products. We are very pleased to welcome Jamaican Tourism board with some exclusive resorts for the first time; they will definitely make some healthy competition to traditional exhibitors like Mauritius, Philippines or the island of „rich and beautiful“ St. Barth, presented at LUXURY Leisure as part of Luxury Caribbean collection.»
The show will be for the first time attended and supported by the Russian Golf Association; the German Medical Wellness Association. The latter will perfectly supplement the SPA&Health area as well as the Conference.
Business and incentive travel exhibition and conference MIBEXPO Russia remains the only
«Business tourism — time to change» — the conference topic of this year’s conference was influenced by the current financial situation. Supported by international associations like ICCA, MPI, DMAI, SITE, IAPCO and ACTE, the conference will be again organized in cooperation with the Business Travel Agencies Association of the Russian Federation (BTAA).
